Lucy Liu is a voice actress singer and director. Also, she is an actress. Beautiful, intelligent and talented actress, she's a great inspiration to Asian actors who are aspiring to become big names in Hollywood. After a series of initial performances in popular shows she gained fame when she joined the cast of the legal comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the villainous Ling Woo. In the wake of her fame, she got major parts on the shows Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). The film Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an impressive performance in the role of Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii. Around this same time she appeared in box office failures, including Rise: Blood Hunter. Later, she became voice actor in animated films, including Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's role on the small screen as a character in Cashmere Mafia did not produce any results. Southland's highly praised police show, Southland and a recurring performance helped Liu to reestablish herself the status of an established actress. Liu carefully selects roles to avoid being a stereotype within an industry where competition is fierce.
