Taylor

Taylor Swift has become a unique pop star: a star who strayed completely from the world of country music to pop culture, becoming a pop icon that will last forever and conquering every corner of the globe. Swift shed her country roots like they were a second skin revealing that she was arguably the smartest populist singer/songwriter of her generation one who could harness the zeitgeist make it personal and also perform in the opposite direction. The skills she displayed were apparent on her earliest hits especially the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering who she was and in the process finding an audience of mass. Fearless was a huge success not just in America, where six of its singles have been certified platinum in the wake of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and you Belong with Me. But the album also enjoyed a great reception across the globe. Swift was able to consolidate her success through Speak Now almost two year following. The next three years, her popularity increased through the years -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014), and 1989 (2014-2015) during which time Swift entered the world of pop music with her skills already established. Although she slowed down her production with folklore, and Evermore releases in 2020 she was nevertheless leading the way in pop music.
